CAMERA ANGLES INTRODUCTION
And the significance within media production

Why consider different camera angles?
Depending on where the camera is relative to the subject, it can convey different meanings. An example of this would be to use low angle shot to imply that the subject is in a position of power. Equally, using a birds eye view shot on a subject can show the subject as weak or inferior.
Establishing shots
Establishing shots are most commonly used to convey the setting or location to the viewer, whilst setting up themes. For example, the low angled establishing shot used here shows Hogwarts; Without knowing anything about the location, we can already infer that it's prestigious and has a sense of history behind it.

Long / Wide shot
This works in a similar way to the ;ow-angle shot, however contrasts the subject with its environment instead of the viewer and or another subject. Furthermore, it can convey the power of a hero or a villain, in contrast to the other by using the environment for scale. It is common for a long shot to follow an establishing shot.
Dutch shot
A dutch shot typically will tilt the camera view to give the viewer with a sense of anxiety, at a point of tension within the movie. For example, using a dutch angle at the moment where a skateboard tilts from the top of a ramp can make the shot uncomfortable long, further engaging the viewer.

Full shot
A full shot shows a characters entire body in frame, and helps the audience to understand how a character may be feeling non-verbally. We can see their stance, facial expressions and gestures which all help to convey emotion. Similar to the wide angle shot, we can use the full shot's background to provide context to how the character is feeling or acting. In the example shown, the character, Django, is shown standing with confidence, we can infer that he is about to take action in this scene.
Camera movements
This video showcases the different types of movements used in cinematography. It includes the boom, the dolly, the pan, the tilt & the roll.
Scaling & Blurring backgrounds
In today's session, the task was to experiment with scaling and creating separate layers in premiere pro, using the motion section of effect controls. I feel I completed this well, and even added a another movement animation for the second given task (displayed in the video). This may be useful in creating my how to video, should I need to focus in on a certain aspect or use portrait footage. I have included screenshots of aspects of the editing panel which I had to manipulate in order to complete

Canva is a browser-based software which is used for constructing images from pre-existing graphics. Oftentimes, it is used for storyboarding media productions. You can use the in-software image search engine or you can upload external images of your own. In my example storyboard, I have uploaded images of a McDonalds drive thru and slenderman.
